Restore to any PC/hardware with EaseUS Todo Backup

To restore system backup image of one PC to another one with dissimilar hardware, Recover to dissimilar hardware of EaseUS Todo Backup is recommended.

Introduction

With Recover to dissimilar hardware of EaseUS Todo Backup, you can restore system backup image of one PC to another one with different hardware, migrate system from one PC/Server to another one with different hardware configurations.

It installs the boot device drivers into the system during restore process so that operating system can boot successfully. In the process of recover to dissimilar hardware, when some new hardware is detected, you will get a prompt to load the drivers manually. All the other drivers (e.g. video and sound card drivers) will be installed in Windows after the successful migration.

Solution

Before restoring system backup image to new computer with dissimilar hardware, please ensure the following:

• You have a backup image of Windows operating system.
• You have bootable disk with EaseUS Todo Backup.
• You have the boot device drivers for the new computer. These drivers are critical for booting the operating system.

Restore system backup to new pc with different hardware using EaseUS Todo Backup:

Method 1: One-click restore system to new pc

1. Boot new computer from EaseUS Todo Backup bootable disk.

2. Select Recover to dissimilar hardware under Home window and follow the wizard.

Method 2: Disk anad partition recovery

1. Boot new computer from EaseUS Todo Backup bootable disk.

2. Select Recovery and click Disk and partition recovery.

3. Select a backup task to restore (you can find the correct task by its Description). If the task you want to restore is not in the list, locate it manually by clicking Browse button.

4. Select the image file version you want to restore. The Created time can help you find the time point you want to restore.

5. Select system partition to restore.

6. Tick Recover to dissimilar hardware option.

7. Select destination location to restore. "Sector by sector recovery" option will perform restore in sector by sector mode. In this mode, you cannot modify the size of restored partition.

8. Preview the disk layout after restore and click Next.

9.Click Proceed. If EaseUS Todo Backup detects new hardware, you will get a prompt to load the necessary drivers manually.
