Proper backup priority settings allow you to decide the backup speed

What is backup priority?

The priority of any process running in a system determines the amount of CPU usage and system resources allocated to that process. Decreasing the backup priority will free more resources for other CPU tasks. Increasing the backup priority might speed up the backup process due to taking resources from the other currently running processes. The result depends on total CPU usage and other factors.

What is the backup priority level?

You can set up the backup priority as follows:

  • Normal - backup or recovery process will run slower, but the performance of other programs will be increased.
  • Medium - backup or recovery process will have the equal priority with other processes.
  • High - backup or recovery process will run faster, but the performance of other programs will be reduced.
