Advantages of RAID array

RAID offers many advantages over the use of single hard disks, but it is clearly not for everyone. The potential for increased capacity, performance and reliability are attractive, but they come with real costs. RAID really does offer a wealth of significant advantages that would be attractive to almost any serious PC user, please see below:

• Higher Data Security: Through the use of redundancy, most RAID levels provide protection for the data stored on the array.
• Fault Tolerance: RAID implementations that include redundancy provide a much more reliable overall storage subsystem than can be achieved by a single disk.
• Improved Availability: Availability refers to access to data.
• Increased, Integrated Capacity: By turning a number of smaller drives into a larger array, you add their capacity together (though a percentage of total capacity is lost to overhead or redundancy in most implementations).
• Improved Performance: RAID systems improve performance by allowing the controller to exploit the capabilities of multiple hard disks to get around performance-limiting mechanical issues that plague individual hard disks.

Why should we backup?

Given enough time, every hard drive ever created has a 100% chance of failure. Even if you replace your storage systems regularly to keep up with the times or to increase capacity as programs and games become larger and larger, you'll probably experience at least one major crash at some point in your life.

Since there are so many kinds of external and internal hard drive based backup tools in the market, failure to backup important data is no longer acceptable. A backup routine is an absolute necessity no matter how many hard drives your system contains to avoid any disaster of data loss and system crash.

How to backup RAID array?

Although the RAID array provides more data security, but it is the safest way to avoid data loss on the RAID by backing up it. 1. Launch backup operation after installation. Please click "Backup" in the main window of this RAID backup freeware.

2. Choose backup and select the RAID partition you want to backup.

3. Select the destination position to save the image and input a name for the RAID backup image.

4. Choose backup options. Here are two options: "Use Default options" and "Set the option manually".
